Experiential Learning Overview

The Experiential Learning tool allows you to create and manage the fieldwork of students at your institution. This tool uses acquired student data to provide diversity statistics on preloaded school information, which can be viewed prior to Placement creation. Diversity Reporting is also possible and shows the diversity exposure and knowledge area coverage of candidates or groups, based on previously assigned Placements at your institution.

There are three separate workflows that can be followed for the creation and application of Placements:

  1. An Administrator creates a Placement and assigns it to a student.
  2. An Administrator creates a vacant Placement to which a student can apply.
  3. A student creates a Placement proposal for an Administrator to confirm or deny.

Options 1 and 2 require creation by an Administrator. Placements can be created by an Administrator via the Bulk Creation method, Template Creation method, or Singular Placement Creation method. More information on each of these methods, along with links to the appropriate help pages, can be found below.

Student Creation Method:

Students Propose Placements

This does not require any setup by an Administrator. Instead, students are able to access the Placements feature and propose a placement which an Administrator can either confirm or deny.
